Hope in Darfur
We just got word that a deep water well that Dry Tears just recently funded is in the process of being drilled! It’s located in an IDP camp (Internally Displaced Camp).
The organization that we partnered with to get this job done is Make Way Partners, and they work against human-trafficking.
As many know, Darfur has been the exact representation of what it looks like when hope is stripped away. With a complicated history, and even more complicated wars raging inside the land, those that are hurt the most are the people of Darfur.
In every situation where Dry Tears has provided a well, we have seen a huge difference in the people’s lives and how it provides tangible hope to them. In Darfur, I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of difference this clean water will make in the Iives of thousands of people.
For every single person that has helped us raise the funds for this project, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Below you can see a few pictures of their previous water source and the effects it has on the people there, then you can see the drilling equipment that will provide fresh, clean, and safe drinking water.
Dear Dry Tears,
On behalf of Make Way Partners I am writing to you and all of the students that you represent to thank you. The hard work Dry Tears initiated to fund a well in the Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps in Darfur, Sudan brings more than fresh water to the thirsty, but it also brings hope to those who feel forgotten by the world.
Attached you will find photos of the well being drilled and conditions in the camp in which this new well has brought both hope and health. I hope that it will reach you before school is out so that you can share with the students who participated in making a difference for the least of these in Sudan.
With much appreciation for your partnership and your groups tenacity to make a difference in this world.
